BOGOTA 5th MOST POPULAR TRAVEL DESTINATION IN LATIN AMERICA

Bogota is  the fifth most popular destination city in Latin America and the Caribbean, a study by global credit card company Mastercard showed Tuesday.
Travel to the Colombian capital grew 15.2% compared to 2011According to the credit card company's ranking, some 1.4 million people traveled to Bogota in 2011, almost half of top destination Sao Paulo.

MASSIVE TOMATO FIGHT RETURNS TO COLOMBIA

After an absence of two years, locals from a village in central Colombia were finally able to hold their massive tomato battle, known as "Tomatina" Sunday.


Some 20,000 people showed up for the sixth edition of the tomato-throwing festival in the town of Sutamarchan, some 75 miles northeast of the capital Bogota.


"This is a party in the honor of the tomato-cultivating farmer," the town mayor, Miguel Arturo Rodriguez, told The Associated Press.
